Mesa Verde RV trip

Our southwest Colorado travels included a Mesa Verde RV stop. The cliff dwellings were a sight that we do not want to miss. We came from Gunnison by Montrose. We took route 62 State Highway 145 and enjoyed the scenic ride on this part of the San Juan Skyway. (We had mentioned was that this less of a departure than taking route 550 would be South of Silverton to Durango).

We stayed at the Mesa Verde RV Resort, one of our happy Camper Park. It is only half a mile from the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park.It is a good starting point for excursions to the nearby cities of Cortez, the Anasazi Heritage Center, the Durango-Silverton railroad, Durango and other locations in the four corners Bereich.Es is a swimming pool and two hot tubs, and really we appreciate the free WiFi from our website.

Some of the great features of Mesa Verde RV Resort are the cosy touches of the lodge-like living room and the warm welcome of the owner-run Park.

The lodge has interesting furniture and Nippes, TV, games and puzzles, a book Exchange, free coffee and Popcorn.Es is a beautiful place to the relax and socialize.

The National Park was our primary site visits on this Mesa Verde RV adventure. On our first visit to Mesa Verde National Park, we stopped in the visitor center to view the exhibits and get a ticket for the cliff apartment tours.

There are three Cliffside sites you visit on a Ranger guided tour: balcony House and Cliff Palace on the Chapin Mesa and long House at Wetherill Mesa (open seasonally) worth it the fee to learn more about the building of the estate and the people, $3 per person lived here.

In addition to the paid tours there is much to see two full days spent on own Faust.Wir Park and could have more easily spent.Reflect back what we have seen, it is of worth to all of these sights for a good appreciation of the history and culture to see ancestral Puebloan people.

Balcony house tour is an interesting tour and crawl through a few narrow tunnel because you get to climb a few heads.

Cliff Palace is the largest town and is a must for park visitors.

In addition to Thses tours we stopped points along the cliff Palace balcony House loop also at some the overlook.

The Museum is very interesting, in addition to the 25-minute orientation film that many exhibits to devote some time.

In the immediate vicinity of the Museum is one of the self-directed Cliff apartment Websites.Bei spruce tree house spruce tree house, can a reconstructed Kiva roof (a Kiva is a ceremonial rooms) and can down down in a Kiva climbing a ladder.

While we were there, we wandered the 2.4 sure mile roundtrip ticket petroglyph point trail - to make the starting point for the hike leader to take one the trail more interesting.

Be sure to make the Mesa top loop road. The overlook show different phases of construction types from the early pit houses points here that uses the walls in the cliff dwellings.

Along the road entrance is far view sites complex a great website with several villages. can a close-up view of the Interior, kivas and towers get.

It is noteworthy that the visitor center about 15 miles in from the park entrance is located and there is a picturesque ride ist.Wir a Coyote as we saw in drove!(We hear that it eventually a new visitor centre right be off highway 160.)

In summary, we found that was next time be our Mesa Verde RV stop fascinating we plan to be here during the summer season, so we can go on the long house tour and see Wetherill Mesa.
